Ibrahimovic Says Buffon Can Play Until He Is 50 Years Old
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Zlatan Ibrahimovic believes that Gianluigi Buffon can play until the age of 50. The reason is because Buffon just needs to work on deflecting the ball.
Ibrahimovic is currently 39 years old. Even though he is quite old as a striker, the Swedish man has been able to score 11 goals and two assists for AC Milan this season.
The former Manchester United player is even leading the Italian League’s top scoring list this season with 10 goals. This record is the same as Cristiano Ronaldo has at Juventus.
Even though he continued to be productive in his old age, Ibrahimovic seemed not sure he could play until the age of 50. According to him, only Buffon can do that.
Buffon is currently the reserve goalkeeper at Juventus. The Italian goalkeeper is 42 years old and still performing well in goal when the Bianconeri beat Barcelona 3-0 in the Champions League group stage.
“I think Buffon (who can play until the age of 50), it is easy: he just needs to stand still and block the ball,” said Ibrahimovic in his interview on the official UEFA website.
Ibrahimovic explained that the striker’s job is more physically demanding. Even though he is old, Ibrahimovic will not make Buffon’s job easy in guarding the goal.
“I need to move, I need to score goals, I have to be able to shoot, I have to be able to fight with the defenders. So, he might be able to play longer without really staying fit, but I will give him a difficult game,” Ibrahimovic confirmed.
