DBasia.news – PSSI secretary general Ratu Tisha Destria confirmed they will prioritize Luis Milla Aspas as the coach of Indonesia national team for the 2018 AFF Cup. If the Spanish coach refuses, PSSI will look for his successor.
PSSI offered Milla a contract extension for another year after the 2018 Asian Games. But until now, the 52-year-old coach hasn’t answered.
PSSI will decide Milla’s next step during the executive committee meeting no later than September 20, 2018. The meeting will decide the position of Indonesia national team.
Moreover, on October 10, Indonesia national team will have a friendly match against Myanmar as the preparation of 2018 AFF Cup. Tisha said the squad should be prepared at least two weeks before the match.

“Yes, that’s our internal deadline. We can’t deny the role of the coach. If we have a friendly match on October 10, it means we have to prepare since 14 days before that,” Tisha said.
Regarding Milla’s successor, Tisha refused to comment, especially about the presence of Bhayangkara FC coach, Simon McMenemy.
Bhayangkara FC manager AKBP Sumardji declared that they had a talk with PSSI about the possibility of Simon to lead the Indonesia national team. But, Tisha doubted this rumor.
