DBasia.news –  AS Roma is said to be interested in buying players from Manchester United, Chris Smalling. In addition, Il Lupi is also said to want to get Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Arsenal permanently.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan performed quite well for AS Roma in the 2019/2020 season. So far, the Armenian has scored five goals in 12 matches in Serie A.

Especially Smalling, the player can make Rome’s defense difficult to penetrate. Not surprisingly, Rome is willing to permanent the English defender even though there is no redemption clause in the agreement.

“Chris Smalling is a great man and a professional. Adapting to Italian football is very easy for him,” Paolo Fonseca told Sky Sports.

“He is a man that everyone in the club likes because of a great professional. I want Smalling to hold on and be ready to talk,” he added.

Negotiations to maintain Smalling will be winding. Because Manchester United is reportedly not intending to release Smalling permanently. However, with a high amount of money, the Red Devils are believed to be melted.

“I don’t know if that’s possible because of the situation at Manchester United. However, I still want Smalling to be here because he is an important player.”

“He is a great player, a great man, with a great attitude every day. For that reason, we will be happy if he persists,” explained the tactician.

Meanwhile, Fonseca also wants to permanent Henrikh Mkhitaryan. Although, the former Arsenal’s career in Rome was disrupted by injury.

“Henrikh Mkhitaryan has suffered several injuries this season, but he is back now and showing his quality,” Fonseca said.

“Let’s see. He is a player with a great decision on the pitch and I also want to keep Henrikh Mkhitaryan in our team.”
