Indonesia National Team Have the Chance to Qualify for the Semifinal

DBasia.news – Indonesia national team started the 2018 AFF Cup with a bad result following the 0-1 defeat against Singapore. The national team still have three Group B qualification matches for 2018 AFF Cup. Two matches will be both home and away.

By the defeat against Singapore, Garuda team are in a difficult situation. Apparently, only two from five Group B participants will qualify for the semifinal.

Indonesia national team are in the third position with no point after the 0-1 defeat against Singapore. Thailand are in the first place with three points and collected seven goals productivity, after defeating Timor Leste 7-0.

Singapore are in the second position with three points. Meanwhile, the Philippines are in the fourth position and haven’t played yet. Timor Leste are at the bottom of the table with zero points.

Indonesia national team striker, Alberto Goncalves, still optimistic with the team’s probability to qualify for the semifinal round. Shortly, Garuda squad will play against Timor Leste on November 13th at Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK).

“We have to focus forward. This one has passed. We still have the probability,” he said.

The defeat against Singapore didn’t necessarily make their mentality down. The naturalization player admits that the opponent was better.

“Most importantly, we are trying. We try the best on the pitch. They could score the goal in the first half, and perhaps they are more eager than us. We have to improve this,” Beto said.

The failure to achieve the goal from Singapore makes the struggle of Indonesia national team will be difficult in the group phase. Moreover, Garuda squad still have to play against five times AFF Cup winner, Thailand, on November 17th at Rajamangala Stadium. Next, the Philippines will be the opponent at SUGBK on November 25th.
