Inter Milan CEO Wants Lautaro Martinez to Focus on Playing

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez is reportedly unfocused on playing as he is thinking of the rumors of a transfer to Barcelona. As a result, his performance has declined.

Lautaro scored 16 goals before the competition was suspended in March due to the corona virus pandemic. When Serie A resumed, the Argentine striker broke the opponent’s goal in six matches.

The 22-year-old player has increasingly been under pressure after failing to execute a penalty in the match against Bologna. The failure is one of the reasons Inter took the defeat.

Inter CEO, Beppe Marrota has asked Lautaro to forget the transfer rumors about him. He must refocus his appearance on the field.

“There are two factors to consider: the competitive factor and the other relating to the transfer market, which goes hand in hand,” Marotta told Sky Sport Italia.

The name Lautaro is often associated with Barcelona. The Blaugrana were looking for a new attacker after Antoine Griezmann appeared sluggish.

Lautaro himself is reportedly interested in joining Barcelona. He did not want to miss the opportunity to duet with Lionel Messi at club level.

Inter’s demeanor regarding the rumors of Lautaro’s transfer itself is very clear. The Nerazzurri intends to keep one of its flagship players.

“Inter does not want to sell the 23-year-old player, but this is the time when rumors arise. We have seen Lautaro as a great player in the first half of the season, which caught the attention of many big clubs,” he added.

“Now he has to find a peace of mind to guarantee the level of performance at Inter that he has shown in the first half of the season.”

Lautaro must immediately rediscover his best performance. Performing poorly for the rest of the season will certainly make interested clubs including Barcelona change their minds.
