Inter Milan Interested to Recruit Young Player of Argentine National Team
By news-admin
DBasia.news – Hijacked by FC Barcelona in getting Arturo Vidal, Inter Milan won’t give up to get at least one more player in this summer transfer market. This time, the name comes from Argentine.
The player is Independiente midfielder, Maximiliano “Maxi” Meza. The 25-year-old player is getting popular since playing for Jorge Sampaoli in the Argentine national team, especially during the 2018 World Cup. His agent, Sergio Carrizzo, admitted that Inter wanted Meza.
“Yes, I had contacts and meetings with (Inter sporting director) Piero Ausilio. I can’t tell you the outcome of that, because at the moment it’s not possible to talk, but yes there has been very real interest from Inter,” said Carrizzo reported by Football-Italia.
“I don’t want to talk about figures, it’s been agreed with the management that if an important offer arrives it will be evaluated. Ausilio knows how much it costs to buy him, we obviously very much hope the deal will be successful. It would be nice to be able to go to a club like Inter,” he said.
Meza as the attacking midfielder can play in both positions, as the winger or behind the main striker. His playing style is similar to other agile players from South American: smart in dribbling the balls and passing the opponents.
Inter are not alone in aiming for the Gimnasia y Esgrima alumnus, according to Carrizzo, the other Europe clubs are also monitoring Meza’s situation in Independiente.
“He’s a real star, a player of the highest level who is ready to make the jump to European football. There are also two English, one German and one Spanish team. We’re waiting to see what happens, if a concrete offer doesn’t arrive, Maxi will stay in Argentina,” Carrizzo concluded.
Inter had a good history and tradition with Argentine players. Let’s say the legends like Javier Zanetti, Walter Samuel, Diego Milito, Esteban Cambiasso, played in Inter. Now, the Luciano Spalletti squad also had Mauro Icardi and Lautaro Martinez. So, Meza won’t have difficulty in adaptation process if he really joins Inter due to the compatriots.
