Inter Milan Vice-President Answers Roberto Mancini’s Complaint

DBasia.news – Inter Milan vice-president, Javier Zanetti, responded Roberto Mancini’s request related to the Italian player. Zanetti assumed the best player has to perform regardless of the background.
Couple times ago, Roberto Mancini complained about the lack of Italian players in Serie A. It made him difficult to find the best player.
For example, during the three initial matches of Serie A, there were only 111 Italian players as the starter. That number was decreasing compared to a decade ago reaching 200 players.
Consequently, Roberto Mancini suggested the Serie A clubs empower Italian players. Especially, Mancini asks for the opportunity for young players.
Roberto Mancini blamed this situation as the main factor of Italy’s failure to qualify the 2018 World Cup. The coach assumed the situation in Serie A detained the young players.

However, Zanetti disagreed with Roberto Mancini’s opinion. The former Inter Milan captain believed the best player must perform regardless of the background.
“After failing to qualify for the World Cup, it’s necessary to work to improve young Italians. Mancini is certainly the right person for that,” Zanetti told Ansa.
“In the league though, regardless of nationality, I think talent must be rewarded. Basically whoever is the best plays.”
“The Italian national team needs to start again and needs the best young players. We’re all happy when there are good Italian players on the pitch, it reflects well on a club’s youth system,” the Inter Milan legendary player continued.
Currently, Inter Milan have 7 Italian players, they are Roberto Gagliardini, Andrea Ranocchia, Matteo Politano, Daniele Padelli, Danilo D’Ambrosio, Tommaso Berni, and Antonio Candreva.
