DBasia.news – Juan Brandariz or Chumi’s name is trending in Spain. It’s because he’s considered undeserve to play in the first leg of Copa del Rey knockout stage against Levante, but he played instead. Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic gave his response.
The young lad is Juan Brandariz or Chumi. He became the problem due to joining the first leg of Copa del Rey match at Levante home.
Based on the report, Chumi has five yellow cards when supporting the Barcelona B team in the Segunda B competition. It raised a question because Chumi shouldn’t play in that match.
Previously, Barcelona might be disqualified from Copa del Rey due to this problem. Responding to this, Rakitic admits that he doesn’t know it in detail. But certainly, the issue won’t bother the squad for the second leg. Barcelona played fiercely and won the match 3-0.
“The Chumi suspension? I only found out a few hours before the game, when I woke up from my siesta and we all had lots of messages, but we were too focused to pay much attention,” Rakitic said cited by Football Espana, Friday (18/1).
“Nobody spoke about it because it is not something we can change, the important thing for us was to play a great game and keep going,” the Croatian player concluded.
