Joao Felix Injured at his First Match with Atletico Madrid

DBasia.news –  Atletico Madrid started the pre-season with a 3-0 win against Numancia at the Campo Municipal de Deportes, on Sunday (21/7). Their goals were scored by Vitolo, Ivan Saponjic and Felipe in the second round.

This match was also a debut for their most expensive player, Joao Felix. The Portuguese player has shown his ability with a number of tricks and threatens the opponent’s goal from the right wing.

However, disaster struck when the 19-year-old striker was unable to continue the game in the second half because of an injury.

Joao Felix was recruited by Atletico from Benfica this summer with a transfer value of 120 million euros (around Rp1.87 trillion) and is expected to become a new flagship player, after the Spanish club was left by Antoine Griezmann to Barcelona.

However, Felix’s career at Atletico was tarnished with an injury. According to Marca’s report, the injury he experienced in the first round which started from a scramble for the ball and Felix seemed to have had a problem at his waist.

Felix had to be pulled out of the field and went straight to the player’s locker room. At the moment, Atletico can only hope that Felix’s injury is not too severe and can be back in action immediately.
