DBasia.news –  England national team won a 7-0 victory over Montenegro in the European Cup 2020 qualification at Wembley Stadium on Friday (11/15/2019) early morning Western Indonesian Time. In this match, Raheem Sterling was forced to watch his friends from the audience bench.

The incident could not be separated from the observations of Raheem Sterling who continued the match in the 2020 European Cup Qualifiers was not revealed by manager Gareth Southgate. After the match, he expressed his disappointment and criticism of the behavior of some of the English fans.

Raheem Sterling stressed that it was a big mistake for British fans to taunt Joe Gomez just because of a dispute with him. According to him, the Liverpool defender was completely innocent in the incident that occurred at the Three Lions training session a few days ago.

“To all English fans, I want to leave things as they are. But tonight I must speak again. It’s really hard for me to see my teammates being ridiculed because of something that was my fault,” Raheem Sterling was quoted as saying on his Twitter account.

The Manchester City winger added, “Joe did nothing wrong. For me, seeing someone who keeps his head down and works hard especially after a difficult week, but then being ridiculed when entering tonight is wrong.”

Furthermore, Raheem Sterling insisted, “I take full responsibility and accept the consequences (not played by Southgate in the match against Montenegro).”

Southgate also expressed disappointment. “I’m really sorry about Joe. Joe did nothing wrong. There are no English players to be ridiculed when they wear this costume. All players are disappointed to see this,” he said as quoted by The Telegraph.

Raheem Sterling and Joe Gomez were involved in a fight at the England national team training session. It was triggered by something similar that happened during the Liverpool vs Manchester City match at the weekend. Sterling later pleaded guilty to not being able to control his emotions.
