Raheem Sterling still Afraid of the continuation of the Premier League

DBasia.news – Manchester City winger, Raheem Sterling claims he is afraid to resume playinf if the Premiere League competition continues amid the Covid-19 pandemic that has not subsided.

Monday (11/05), the Premier League will finally resume. The participating clubs have agreed that the 2019-2020 season competition must be completed. The British government has also allowed the possibility of resumption on June 1, 2020.

The certainty was apparently not welcomed by Raheem Sterling. He admitted that he was still haunted by anxiety due to the ongoing Corona Virus pandemic.

“We all want to go to a football game immediately. However, at the same time, there is an ongoing pandemic, “Raheem Sterling said as quoted by the Manchester Evening News.

The former Liverpool player stressed, the need for determining the right time is for health and safety of each other. At present, he believes that the situation and conditions are still not ideal.

“When we return it must not be solely based on football considerations. Not our health, just footballers, but also all medical staff, referees. I don’t know how, but the best time is when the safety of the players and everyone is guaranteed and their health is also taken care of, “explained Raheem Sterling.

Furthermore, Sterling revealed, “Until then, I somehow said it, not fearing, but holding back and thinking about the worst that could happen.”

Nevertheless, Sterling remains happy and is looking forward to the resumption of the competition. “At the same time, I’m really looking forward and really want to get back to playing. However, hopefully everything will be fine when we really do come back, “he concluded.

Raheem Sterling’s views support the statement of his colleague at Manchester City, Sergio Aguero. The Argentine striker had said, most players are still worried and afraid if the Premier League is resumed in the near future as the Corona Virus pandemic is not over.
