Jordan Henderson: Strange If Liverpool Raise Trophy Without Fans
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson thinks it will feel strange if he and his colleagues lift the Premiere League trophy without fans watching.
Liverpool only need six points from nine matches remaining to win their first league title in 30 years. However, the certainty of when the prestigious competition will be held again in the UK is still unclear.
Fans are banned from playing matches in line with government health protocols for the continued Premiere League.
“Of course it will feel different because if you win any trophy and accept it without fans there, it will feel very strange,” Henderson told BBC Radio.
“It’s not over yet, we still have work to do … We want to finish as hard as we can to ensure this is a full season.”
“After that, whether we win or whatever, then (accept) the trophy and the fans aren’t there … you just have to face it when it happens,” he concluded.
Premiere League clubs have started training in small groups last week and will vote on Wednesday whether to move on to phase two of ‘Project Restart’ which allows players to continue physical contact training.
