Jose Mourinho and Jurgen Klopp Sympathetic to Unai Emery

DBasia.news –  Liverpool manager (Jurgen Klopp) and Tottenham Hotspur (Jose Mourinho) showed their sympathy for Unai Emery after he was sacked by Arsenal.

Emery, 48, was sacked by Arsenal after a seven-game streak with no wins in all competitions. That became the Gunners’ worst record – the nickname of Arsenal – since it last occurred in 1992.

Freddie Ljungberg was appointed by Arsenal to become an interim manager before club officials sought a new manager – Ljungberg could also be appointed permanent manager if his performance was good. Klopp wishes the best for Unai Emery.

“This is the world of football. This is our life. This is what (maybe) you received when you signed the contract. We have to make the best use of the situation at the club,” Klopp said.

“I wish him (Emery) the best, of course. He is a very great manager and has shown him in many different countries. He will be fine in the future, but I am sure he has big ambitions at Arsenal.”

“Now, Arsenal must find a solution. Freddie (Ljungberg) is currently handling the job (interim manager), so that’s how it is. There are young coaches out there, maybe lacking experience, but maybe he can take advantage of the opportunity,” he explained.

Not much different from the Liverpool manager, Mourinho, Tottenham’s manager, was also sympathetic to Emery and gave his enthusiasm he would soon find another big club.

“It (Emery’s dismissal) has always been sad news. I felt it when I was little when my father was fired as a manager. I felt it when I was fired before,” added Mourinho.

“No manager is happy when they are fired. I always feel the situation of deja vu. I’m sad for him, but that’s life.”

“Unai is a fantastic coach. He is not happy at Arsenal, obviously, but he is a fantastic coach with a proven record.”

“With a little rest, another big club will come to him and his career will rise again. There is no drama, mi amigo. Keep going and you will find another club,” concluded Mourinho, who was fired by Manchester United in December 2018.

Emery became the big name of the Premier League who was fired this season, following the sacking of Mauricio Pochettino by Tottenham Hotspur. Uniquely, the two clubs are headquartered in North London. In fact, Pochettino is rumored to be a candidate for Emery at Arsenal.
