Josep Maria Bartomeu Responds to Rumors of Neymar’s Arrival

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Barcelona President Josep Maria Bartomeu finally opened a voice related to a number of rumors linking several players with the Spanish club, one of which was an attempt to repatriate Neymar.

The corona virus pandemic had a huge impact on Barcelona’s financial strength. The policy of cutting salaries up to 70 percent does not seem to help too much.

While Neymar has exorbitant price tag. Blaugrana is estimated to have to prepare funds of more than 100 million euros to bring it.

Bartomeu admitted Barcelona currently do not have that much transfer funds. The solution, they will use the player exchange scheme to get the game.

“Now, we make decisions with the players. If there is no exchange, then it is very difficult for them to come,” Bartomeu said related to Neymar reported by Mundo Deportivo.

While in the case of Lautaro Martinez, Bartomeu admitted that the negotiation process with Inter Milan as the owner’s club was stalled. The absence of a meeting point related to price is certainly the cause.

This is a signal of danger for the future of Barcelona. They really need additional ammunition on the front lines after Antoine Griezmann appeared disappointing.

It is not impossible that the French striker will be sacrificed in order to increase Barcelona’s transfer funds. The problem is, not many people dare to buy Griezmann at a high price after performing poorly this season.

This situation could also threaten Barcelona’s chances of retaining Lionel Messi. The Argentine superstar admitted that it was almost impossible to win the title with the material players that exist now.

With the remaining one-year contract, Messi might reconsider the opportunity to leave Barcelona. He certainly will not be difficult to find another club that can help him win various trophies.

But Bartomeu is not afraid of losing Messi. He believes the captain will stay at Camp Nou to bring Barcelona out of crisis.

“Messi has repeatedly said that he wants to retire here and I have no doubt he will extend the contract,” he stressed.
