Jurgen Klopp Asesses it’s Reasonable for Liverpool to Decline in Performance

DBasia.news –  Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, is not worried after seeing his team’s confidence which had declined and swallowed a defeat.

Liverpool returned to their winning ways after overthrowing Bournemouth 2-1 in the 2019-2020 Premier League match, at Anfield Stadium, Saturday (7/3). Previously, the Reds swallowed a losing streak in three away games.

Indeed, Liverpool were under pressure after Bournemouth scored through Callum Wilson in the 9th minute. Luckily, the slick mentality of the Reds players did not waver. In the end, Mohamed Salah (25 ‘) and Sadio Mane (33’) scored to ensure Liverpool to win 2-1.

Klopp revealed, the confidence of the players has improved. Klopp understands very well what can be displayed by the players.

“I know what the players can do, but they are the ones that perform, not me,” explained Klopp after the match as reported by the BBC.

“We have said before, confidence is not something you achieve, put it in your pocket, and keep it forever. It will come and go. You need a feeling where things will go as you wish.”

An additional three points has made Liverpool closer to the Premier League title. Although, Manchester City still has more match savings than the Reds.

“You have to fight hard and that always comes first. However, we now have 82 points and it’s really fun. We have to keep fighting, giving all the opponents a great performance, and that’s what was done today,” he added.

Next, Liverpool will host Atletico Madrid in the second leg match of the top 16 of the Champions League, at Anfield Stadium, Thursday (12/3). Currently, Virgil van Dijk and colleagues are in a 1-0 aggregate lag.
