Jurgen Klopp Disappointed VAR did not Cancel Marcus Rashford’s Goal

DBasia.news –  In the continuing match nine of the English Premier League at Old Trafford, Sunday (10/20), a 1-1 draw had to be won by Liverpool against Manchester United. Marcus Rashford’s goal, which was not canceled by the video assistant referee (VAR), has made Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, disappointed.

Rashford brought the Red Devils ahead in the first round, precisely in the 36th minute. Before this goal was created, there was a moment when Victor Lindelof violated Divock Origi, but the VAR review considers no significant violation.

Adam Lallana finally forced the match to a draw with his goal in the remaining five minutes in normal time so the Reds are still unbeaten so far.

“I reassured everyone because I knew right away. They scored and (referee) Mr Atkinson immediately gave the VAR signal,” Klopp told reporters after the match.

“My coaches are ready with their feet, but I am one hundred percent sure VAR will cancel (that goal), but then we have a problem.”

“The referee had let the match go on because he has VAR, but VAR then says it’s not clear so he can say it’s not a violation, so he doesn’t annul it.”

“That doesn’t make sense. This is a clear VAR issue with how we deal with it right now.”

“I was very surprised after that. I won’t be angry.”

With this draw, Liverpool are now within six points of their closest competitor, Manchester City.
