Jurgen Klopp: Liverpool could have scored 7 goals against RB Salzburg

DBasia.news –  Liverpool defeated Red Bull Salzburg 2-0 in the Champions League on Wednesday (11/12/2019) early morning Western Indonesian Time. This result makes the Reds is certain to qualify for the knockout phase as the top of Group E.

Liverpool’s two goals came at the start of the second half through Naby Keita’s head and Mohamed Salah’s legs. Throughout the match, the Reds actually get a lot of opportunities. However, they failed to convert it into goals.

This is also regrettable by Jurgen Klopp. According to him, foster children could have scored seven goals against Salzburg. Even so, he still flatters the struggle of Jordan Henderson et al who can master the pressure.

“An extraordinary team. The players showed their unyielding effort in this difficult match. They do a lot of smart things. I have to admit this match was very tense,” said the German coach as quoted saying by the BBC on Wednesday (11/12/2019).

“In the second half they couldn’t overcome its intensity and we managed to take advantage of that by scoring two beautiful goals. But we should be able to score six or seven goals and that would be very crazy,” he added.

An additional three points make Liverpool top the Group E standings with 13 points. While RB Salzburg must be willing to be stuck in third place with six points and failed to advance to the last 16. The club that will accompany the Reds to the knockout phase of Group E is Napoli who at the same time won 4-0 over Genk.
