Jurgen Klopp talks about sanctions received by Man City from UEFA

DBasia.news – Jurgen Klopp also commented on the sanctions received by Manchester City from UEFA regarding FFP violations.
As is known, Man City was banned from appearing in European competition for two consecutive seasons and a 30 million euro fine by UEFA for violating FFP rules. City allegedly made a false report to the financial investigating agency (club) UEFA and involved a third party in the transfer of players.
Man City are still trying to reduce or suspend the sentence through the CAS (World Sports Arbitration Board). The impact of the sanctions was considerable with potential: an exodus of players, Pep Guardiola leaving, Sheikh Mansour leaving the club, and damaging the club’s reputation.
Responding to the issue that stirred up European football, Jurgen Klopp was also disappointed, as for the last four years under Guardiola’s care, Man City became one of the great powers in England and Europe with an offensive and entertaining football game.
“It (UEFA’s punishment to Man City) was shocking when I heard it. At the moment I imagine it would be difficult for them,” Jurgen Klopp stated.
“I don’t know how this works – all I can say is Manchester City under Pep Guardiola plays sensational football. I always admire what they do.”
Klopp assessed that the players and Guardiola had nothing to do with the sanction from UEFA. They only play the football that Guardiola wants and try to entertain the audience or football lovers of the world.
“To be honest I am sorry for Pep and the players because, wow, they, of course, no one is wrong. They only play football and play sensational football. Pep helps the league improve football,” concluded the German manager.
