DBasia.news –  Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool manager, praised the positive debut of the club’s new signing, Takumi Minamino when competing in the FA Cup third round.

Jurgen Klopp installed Takumi Minamino as a striker from the start of the match. The former RB Salzburg retainer made several hassles for the visitors’ defense.

Although he didn’t score and was replaced in the 70th minute, Minamino’s debut got a positive response from Klopp. The manager was amazed by the rapid adaptation process.

“Takumi Minamino appeared super and extraordinary. He was exactly what we wanted. He was the player we hoped for,” Klopp said as reported by the Daily Mail.

“In the debut match with an unknown team, a team that is not well established, it is a difficult thing,” said the manager.

Klopp added he was impressed with the Minamino game and the player’s adaptability to non-core teams. Klopp made nine changes to the composition of the players compared to when Liverpool bent Sheffield United last week.

“The team we tasked with on the field only had two joint training sessions. To be able to demonstrate such understanding, extraordinary soccer skills were needed. His attitude was also extraordinary,” Klopp said.

“He very often leads when chasing the ball. He doesn’t look tired. We don’t know Minamino well so he has to pull out.”

Takumi Minamino appeared as a star at RB Salzburg in the first half of the season. Of the 22 matches, the 24-year player packed nine goals plus 11 assists. In fact, Minamino had a chance to rip Liverpool’s goal net when dealing in the Champions League.
