Jurgen Klopp’s comment about 2021 Africa Cup begins in January

DBasia.news –  Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, said moving the Africa Cup of Nations back to January, “For us, it is a disaster.” The 20201 Africa Cup has been moved from the summer due to unfavorable weather in the host country, Cameroon.

What Juergen Klopp said was very reasonable. Because in Liverpool there are three players who come from Africa. They are Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, and Naby Keita.

“I can’t value the African Cup more than I do because I like competition. But this is a clear problem that you play in the middle of the season. The Africa Cup of Nations which will return to January for us is a big disaster, “Klopp said as reported by the BBC on Saturday (1/18/2020).

“This decision was made without asking the opinions of the players, managers, and anyone in the world of football. This is just a decision,” continued the former coach of Borussia Dortmund.

The bespectacled coach added that the new policy would not help players from the black continent. “That will not help African players. We will not sell Sadio, Salah, or Naby just because they have tournaments in January and February,” he said.

“But if you have to make a decision about bringing players labeled stars because before the season starts you know four weeks later you can’t have them,” he added.

“It’s a normal process and as a club, you have to think about things like that. That policy does not help the player at all,” Klopp concluded.
