Joao Cancelo
DBasia.news – Manchester City are getting closer to getting Juventus’ right-back, Joao Cancelo, in the transfer market this summer. Believed by Italian media, The Citizens are getting closer to recruiting the player.
Later, Cancelo will be exchanged with Danilo plus Juventus will receive 30 million euros in cash – although the latest news also reports that Juve wanted more money. Negotiations are still ongoing.
“The agreement between Juventus and Manchester City for Joao Cancelo is getting closer. Danilo will be part of the agreement (plus the 30 million euros offered by Man City, Juventus wanted more). He is also getting closer to reaching a personal agreement with Juve,” said the Italian transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano.
Added by Gazzetta Dello Sport journalist, Nicolo Schira, negotiations between the two clubs have reached a further stage and will soon be completed in the near future.
If joining Man City, then Cancelo for three years in a row would have just ‘hitched in’ at three different clubs from Inter Milan, Juventus and City. The Portugese right-back can further add to the quality of City’s play.
Pep Guardiola, City manager, had already had Kyle Walker in that position. However, the presence of Cancelo will enliven competition in that area. Moreover, Cancelo can also play a role as a right wing attacker, right wing midfielder, and right wing defender.
Cancelo will be City’s third recruit after Angelino and Rodri. While Juventus, if are able to get Danilo, will replace Cancelo directly to compete with Mattia De Sciglio to win the status of a regular player at the right back position.
