DBasia.news – AC Milan’s victory over Atalanta in the 2021-2022 Serie A continuation did not only bear three points. Two Rossoneri players also received good news.

In the match that took place at Atleti Azzurri d’Italia, Monday (4/10) am, WIB, Milan defeated Atalanta with a score of 3-2. These results bring Il Diavolo Rosso comfortably in second place.

The three winning goals for Milan were scored by Davide Calabria (1′), Sandro Tonali (42′), and Rafael Leao (78′). While Atalanta were only able to reply twice through Duvan Zapata’s penalty (86′), and Mario Articleic’s goal in injury time.

Two Milan players who received the good news were Calabria and Tonali. Both were unexpectedly called up by the Italian national team to compete in the semifinals and finals of the UEFA Nations League.

Both were summoned with substitute status. They would fill the place left by Rafael Toloi and Matteo Pessina.

Toloi and Pessina failed to fulfill Gli Azzurri’s call due to injury. Interestingly, the last name mentioned has experienced it in the Atalanta match against Milan.

Pessina who became one of the motors of Atalanta’s attack had to be withdrawn in the 24th minute. His thighs suffered after being blocked from Fikayo Tomori.

Calabria plotted to replace Toloi. While Tonali is actually not the first option to replace Pessina.

Italy coach Roberto Mancini is reportedly set to appoint Nicolo Zaniolo to replace Pessina. However, he was also injured.

Meanwhile, Tonoli was initially called up to the Italy U-21 national team. But he is now moving up a class and has the opportunity to win his first trophy at the senior national team level.

Italy will face Spain in the semifinals, Thursday (7/10). If they are able to pass it smoothly, they are waiting for the winners of the Belgian and French matches in the final.
