Kazuyoshi Miura Signed Yokohama FC Contract Aged 51

DBasia.news – Kazuyoshi Miura won’t retire in the near future even though he would turn 52 in February. King Kazu signed the contract with Yokohama FC.
Yokohama official site reported Miura signed the one-year contract until 2020. Miura would present his final career period and enjoys the chance.
“I will not waste it for one minute, one second. I think that I want to go face-to-face with football and go to daily training with maximum power,” Miura told BBC Sport.
Miura’s achievement is the example for young football players. Miura showed his physical health despite the age and long period of a career.
Miura was born in the same month as Italy legend, Roberto Baggio who retired in 2004. Two years ago, Miura broke the Stanley Matthews record as the oldest top-scorer in the world.
Miura is the witness of time changing since he started the career in 1986 until the modernization period with social media and technology innovation.
Moreover, in J-League formed in 1993, Miura already became a football player with Verdy Kawasaki before loaned to Genoa as a striker.

- Miura is the top-scorer and best player of J-League first edition in 1993, defeating the foreign players like Gary Lineker and Zico.

- His debut with Japan national team started in 1990 and Miura helped the team to the World Cup for the first time in 1998. At that time, Miura scored 14 goals in the qualification round. Unfortunately, he was controversially eliminated from the squad and retired in 2000 with 89 caps and 55 goals.
- Miura once supported two Europe clubs, Genoa and Dinamo Zagreb. He won the Croatian League in 1999.
