Keita Rejected Two Clubs for Liverpool
By news-admin
DBasia.news – Liverpool new midfielder, Naby Keita, didn’t decline the issue mentioning that he rejected Barcelona and Bayern Munchen for the sake of joining The Reds. The player admitted he consulted with Sadio Mane before taking the decision.
Actually, Liverpool has got Naby Keita from RB Leipzig since last season. The Reds gave £54M for the 23-year-old player.
Liverpool isn’t doing it without an obstacle. Besides long negotiation with RB Leipzig, The Reds had to compete with some Europe big clubs.
“It’s true to say that there were other teams involved like the ones you mentioned. But a big part of my decision was the role of the coach,” Keita said via the Guardian.
“We had good conversations. The words he spoke to me about this project really convinced me. I could see how the club was developing and I spoke at length with Sadio (Mane).
“Sadio is like a brother to me. We had nine months together at Salzburg and built up a good rapport. We have been great friends since that time. He told me what a great club this was and how the team was progressing and had great potential,” he insisted.
Naby Keita is predicted to be Jurgen Klopp’s key player in the center field. He will collaborate with Jordan Henderson or Fabinho, the newcomer.
