Klopp Affirmed Fans’ Health Are More Important Than Football

DBasia.news – Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, also commented about the concerns of the Reds fans related to the Premier League title this season. Klopp considers health to be more important than football.
The Premier League was postponed until April because the spread of the corona virus had reached England. The FA does not want to risk playing a match with a crowd of fans in the stadium who can spread the corona virus – if someone is infected.
Playing games without spectators is no longer an option, because clubs also need income from ticket sales. Liverpool are top of the table and 25 points adrift of Manchester City in the current Premier League delays.
Liverpool only needed two more wins to secure the Premier League title which was last won in 1990 (still named Division One). But in the latest conditions there is no guarantee Liverpool will be ‘given’ the Premier League title.
Through Liverpool’s official website, Jurgen Klopp is trying to allay fans’ concerns about the Premier League title. According to him, now is not the moment to talk about football, but to think about the condition of themselves and those around.
“I don’t think this is a time when the thought of a football manager is important, but I understand that for our supporters, they will want to hear (news) from the team and I will accept it,” Klopp said.
“First and foremost, we all must do anything to protect one another. In society I mean. This must be the case all the time in life, but at the moment I think it’s more important than before.”
“I have said before that soccer always seems to be the most important of the least important things. Today, soccer and soccer matches are really not important at all.”
“Of course, we don’t want to play in front of an empty stadium and we don’t want the game or competition to be stopped, but if we do it helps one person stay healthy – only one – we do it without question. If it is a choice between football and the good of society broadly, it’s not a contest. Really, that’s not it, “Klopp stressed.
The German manager is fully confident in the authorities in giving the final decision about the league. In addition, Klopp also gave moral support to them, from rival teams, who contracted the corona virus.
“Today’s decisions and announcements are being carried out with the motive of keeping people safe. Therefore we fully support it. We have seen team members who compete with us become ill. This virus shows that being involved in football does not provide immunity,” Klopp added.
“To our rival clubs and affected individuals and for those who will become, you are in our thoughts and prayers.”
“None of us knows at the moment what the final outcome is, but as a team we must have confidence that the authorities make decisions based on judgment and good morals.”
Mikel Arteta, Arsenal manager, and three Leicester City players tested positive for the corona virus. Klopp ended with a message to the public to look after each other’s health.
“Yes, I am the manager of this team and club and therefore assume leadership responsibilities related to our future on the playing field,” Klopp added.
“But I think at this time, with so many people around our city, region, country and world facing anxiety and uncertainty, it would be entirely wrong to talk about anything other than advising people to follow expert advice and look after themselves and each other other.”
“The message from the team to our supporters is just about your health. Prioritize your health. Don’t take any risks. Think about the vulnerable in our society and act as much as possible with compassion for them. “
“Please take care of yourself and take care of each other,” concluded Jurgen Klopp.
