Klopp Promises Not to Break into the Field on Merseyside Derby

By db-admin

DBasia.news –  Ahead of the 15th week of the English League match that brought Liverpool and Everton together, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will not be breaking into the field again. The Merseyside Derby match will be held at Anfield Stadium on Wednesday (11/4) local time.

Last season, Klopp broke into the field and hugged goalkeeper Alisson Becker shortly after Divock Origi scored against Everton in the sixth minute of injury time which sealed a narrow 1-0 victory.

“Everton certainly performed great that night, the game was tight, there were many chances they could win,” Klopp said at a pre-match press conference reported by Liverpool’s official website.

“Then suddenly a strange goal and my celebration, which indeed made me have to apologize, I make sure it will not happen again,” he stressed.

Although he said he would not repeat it, Klopp considered the spontaneous action was cool enough to be remembered.

Tomorrow Liverpool vs Everton will be the 234th edition of the Merseyside Derby of all time tomorrow.

Liverpool is clearly seeded to face Everton, who are in a negative period, although the clear man should not let them off guard from the full three-point target.

The victory will make Liverpool strengthen its position at the top of the English League standings and increase or at least maintain a distance from the competitive advantage.

In fact, Klopp has the opportunity to go beyond a series of 32 Premier League matches unbeaten. When defeating Brighton & Hove Albion at the end of last week, Klopp had equaled the record set by Liverpool when Kenny Dalglish was still handling it.
