Klopp: Shaqiri will not be Released by Liverpool
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, insists his team has no intention of releasing Xherdan Shaqiri in the winter transfer window this January.
Xherdan Shaqiri rarely received a share of playing at Liverpool this season, but Klopp still feels his players are very important. Moreover, Klopp felt his team needed all players to be able to survive until the end of the 2019-2020 season.
All of these reasons led Klopp to ensure that Shaqiri would not be released this January. Even though several big European clubs like AS Roma and Sevilla are reportedly interested in obtaining the 28-year-old’s signature.
“The majority of December and January we have benches full of kids, great kids, but kids, so how can we think about giving players to other clubs?” Klopp said at Soccerway.
“This is not about Xherdan Shaqiri, this is about everyone. We have to take care of them to sort our situation, not the situation for different clubs. If other clubs will come to the corner and ask correctly, but that doesn’t happen. “
“If they are desperate, then we will think about sales, but there is absolutely no intention on our part to do anything,” Klopp added.
Xherdan Shaqiri has only defended Liverpool
in 10 matches this season. The Swiss player also contributed one goal.
