Kylian Mbappe Affirms Still Want to Defend PSG Next Season
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Paris Saint Germain’s young striker, Kylian Mbappe, admitted that he still wants to continue to defend Les Parissien next season.
Previously, Mbappe reportedly became the main target of Real Madrid in the transfer market next summer. Moreover, until now, Mbappe has not yet come to a contract extension with Les Parissien, which is scheduled to end in 2022. However, Mbappe reiterated his desire to stay at the Parc de Princess Stadium.
“I must say, I will remain in this club. I was in a big project until my fourth year with this club. For everyone, for the directors, and fans, whatever happens, I will survive. I want to help this team win the trophy and be the best in the world,” Mbappe said in Marca, Wednesday (7/22).
Having spent a one-season loan from AS Monaco in the 2017/2018 season, Mbappe was finally recruited permanently by PSG in the 2018/2019 season. At that time, PSG bought Mbappe with a transfer value of 145 million euros.
During three seasons strengthening PSG, the 21-year-old striker has scored 90 goals in 120 appearances in all competitions. Nicks of three French League titles, including Ligue 1 this season, were presented by Mbappe to PSG.
However, Mbappe still cannot bring PSG to the Champions League title. In the last three seasons, PSG has never been able to penetrate the last 16 of the most elite European club competition. Even so, this season, PSG has been able to pass the achievements of the previous three seasons.
PSG succeeded in ensuring a place in the quarter-finals after removing Borussia Dortmund in the last 16. Les Parissien has been awaited by Italy’s representative, Atalanta, in the quarter-finals of the Champions League this season. This is an opportunity for Mbappe to be able to bring PSG to carve a new record on the Champions League stage since the last four seasons.
