Kylian Mbappe Claimed Not Good Enough for Liverpool
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Former Liverpool player, Jason McAteer opened up on the news of the Reds’ interest in bringing Kyian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain. Although recognizing the quality of Mbappe, McAteer believes at this time the player is not ready to play for The Anfield Gank.
In the last few weeks, Mbappe has often been associated with Liverpool who are planning to rejuvenate their front lines. The Reds’ interest in Mbappe is not without reason, the player showed an impressive performance in the last three seasons with Paris Saint-Germain.
But McAteer has a different opinion. Despite recognizing Mbappe as an outstanding young player, McAteer believes he is not ready to appear with Liverpool. McAteer instead suggested the Reds to bring Timo Werner or Jadon Sancho whom he believed to be far more prepared.
“As a club, you cannot keep quiet. You have to be able to evolve. From the manager’s perspective, you have to take two to three steps forward,” McAteer told Stats Perform News.
“It’s Jurgen’s [Klopp] job to be able to visualize what he sees next season, prepare the team well for the next season.”
“PSG is a unique club, eager to win the Champions League, they put together a fantastic squad, [but] the players want a bigger challenge.”
“For me Mbappe is not in the right club but on the other hand it is not the time for him to join Liverpool. I am not sure he is the type of player Jurgen needs. At the moment he is unfit to join them.” “I prefer to see Werner or Sancho. Many people think Mbappe would be suitable to play for Liverpool with a variety of reasons, but when viewed from the perspective of football, for now he is unsuitable to play there,” he concluded.
