Kylian Mbappe is fully fit to defend PSG

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Kylian Mbappe can play as a starter in the Champions League semi-final match against RB Leipzig. This was confirmed by Paris Saint-Germain coach, Thomas Tuchel.

Previously, Mbappe suffered an ankle injury in the Coupe de France final against Saint-Etienne, Friday (24/7/2020). As a result, he missed the Coupe de La Ligue final against Lyon a week later, which Les Parisiens won on penalties.

Having been expected to be absent when against Atalanta in the Champions League quarter-finals last week, Mbappe slowly recovered and was able to appear in the match which was won by PSG 2-1, even though he only played from the 60th minute.

In a press conference ahead of Leipzig, Tuchel said Mbappe’s condition was getting better, and he was certain that he could play from the early minutes. This is certainly good news for PSG.

“He (Mbappé) did not complain about anything and it has been the last six days to continue to recover his fitness, so he can appear from the start,” said Tuchel, as quoted by The Guardian.

“After training we will decide whether he can play the full 90 minutes or not,” continued the German coach.

Tuchel will also rely on Neymar, who contributed to PSG’s two winning goals against Atalanta. He called the Brazilian striker the leader on the pitch.

“Neymar has always been a leader on the pitch, ever since I came to this club,” added Tuchel. “He shows courage, confidence, and that’s how a leader should behave in the middle of the field.”

The RB Leipzig vs PSG duel will take place at the Estadio da Luz, Lisbon, Wednesday (19/8) at 02.00 WIB. The two teams will both fight to qualify for the final for the first time in the club’s history.
