La Liga can Block Griezmann’s Transfer to Barcelona

Antoine Griezmann
DBasia.news – Javier Tebas, President of La Liga, gave his answer regarding Atletico Madrid’s request for La Liga to block Antoine Griezmann’s transfer to Barcelona. According to Tebas, that possibility could have happened.
As is known, Atletico has still not accept the fact that Griezmann was purchased for 120 million euros by Barcelona as they considered Barca and Griezmann have entered into an agreement before July 1, 2019, when Griezmann’s purchase clause dropped from 200 to 120 million euros.
Griezmann is currently in the Barca squad and has played in the preseason test matches. However, La Liga can still cancel the transfer before the official competition begins – if Atletico’s accusations are correct.
“Atletico sent us a message and asked if we could block Griezmann’s transfer to Barcelona. That might be possible,” said Javier Tebas, quoted from Calciomercato.
“A mechanism has been initiated and the authorized body must study the situation. I am not fasting in the power of decision (at this time),” he stressed.
Atletico will continue to fight for things they believe in La Liga, while Barcelona will also continue the preseason tour with Griezmann. The transfer Saga still continues even though the player has changed clubs.
