LaLiga Match Problem in the US, Barcelona Abandon to Play

DBasia.news – The chance of conducting the LaLiga in the US in January is getting smaller. Apparently, Barcelona, who are scheduled to play against Girona on January 2019 will no longer continue playing in LaLiga.

In the beginning, Barcelona agreed to play in the US as one of the plans from LaLiga President Javier Tebas, innovating LaLiga to follow the popularity of Europe top leagues.

However, Tebas’ idea got many rejections. Now, Barcelona abandon their participation to play the LaLiga match in the US.

“Barcelona’s disposition to playing in Miami is no longer in effect. FC Barcelona was and is willing to move to Miami to play a league game, and accepted that the benefits were shared out between all the clubs of the first and second division, following the same criterion of distribution as in the television rights,” said Barca statement in Standard Sports.

“But it considers that until an agreement is reached between all the agents involved, this project will not be able to prosper,” he continued.

Girona haven’t given their response. But, considering the rejections of this plan, possibly the LaLiga match in the US would be canceled this season.
