DBasia.news – Chelsea’s brand-new striker, Timo Werner has began to prepare to defend his new team. The German striker has been training with his team-mates and was given input by the manager, Frank Lampard.

Chelsea signed Werner for five years after activating his purchase clause from RB Leipzig form47.5 million pounds. Leipzig was originally still participating in the Champions League, but Werner has decided to honor a new contract with his club.

Werner is not the only one that has trained with his new team, Hakim Ziyech was also recruited from Ajax Amsterdam. Although the new season has not begun and has yet to enter the break period, both of them has continue to train so that they can immediately adapt to Chelsea’s playing style.

Incidentally, the Chelsea players also still maintain the rhythm and fitness of playing as they will still compete in the FA Cup final and the Champions League after the end of the Premier League.

Werner’s first impression with Chelsea was very positive. In fact he immediately felt at home to Lampard as he told him his playing position and role at Chelsea, as well as the insights from his experience as a former player.

“He (Lampard) is the main point, we talk a lot about things like the system, like how he wants to play and see me play, and how the system suits me,” Werner said about Lampard as quoted from Goal.

“He is a great man who not only tells me what he wants from me as a player because he wants to help me as a man.”

“He knows I am now a little better and we go together, and now I am happy to be here,” added Werner.

“When you have the decision to leave your old club and come to a big club like this, it is for me a dream come true as Chelsea is a big club,” Werner added.

“I knew the player previously when they won the Champions League with (Didier) Drogba, with my new manager Frank Lampard, Petr Cech as technical advisor.”

“It’s like a small dream for me but I want to be, not the same player as them, but I want to be part of a new era here so I will play to try to give my best,” stated Werner.

Werner’s presence could motivate two other Chelsea attackers, Tammy Abraham and Olivier Giroud for next season. In addition the 24-year-old player also has a fairly high playing experience with a record of 29 caps and 11 goals with the German national team.
