League Cup quarter-finals: Liverpool vs Aston Villa, Jurgen Klopp Send Prayers

By db-admin

DBasia.news –  Manager Jurgen Klopp will gather and watch Liverpool’s match against Aston Villa in the English League Cup stage with the main players. This rare situation was forced to do because Liverpool’s first team was in Doha, Qatar to take part in the World Cup.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp offered his prayers to the Reds who will fight Aston Villa in the 2019-20 League Cup quarter-finals. Klopp sent a long-distance prayer because he and the Liverpool first team were in Qatar.

Villa hosted the League Cup quarter-finals against Liverpool on Wednesday (12/18) at 2:45 a.m. Western Indonesian Time. Liverpool holds the status of non-superior (underdog) because currently most of the core players are in Qatar to play the Club World Cup semifinals.

The Liverpool team in England will be handled by Neil Critchley, Liverpool U-23 coach. Liverpool is considered to have ‘let go’ of the League Cup title due to tight schedules. However, Klopp does not agree with this assumption.

“I know how many people in the public see it (Villa vs Liverpool match). But, if all soccer matches are determined before it starts, just because of people’s perception, most of the matches will not be played,” Klopp said on Liverpool’s official website.

“I’m sure, I have great faith in everything for an opportunity. From the point of view of children, if I were them I would be excited, excited, waiting for him like madness, running for your life, all of those things.”

The German manager promised to invite his foster children in Qatar to provide support to their young colleagues who fight in Britain.

“All our prayers are with them (the Critchley team), the more experienced players are also waiting for him, to watch the game and support them from here,” Klopp added.

“Whatever we can do, we will do, but Critch, his staff, and his children, I’m sure they really look forward to it and will enjoy it.”

“You can only enjoy football if you work hard and achieve positive results – whatever the results. Aston Villa’s favorite wins, it’s clear, but who cares? It’s football and the ball rolling in every direction, that’s pretty good,” concluded Klopp.

In the Inter-Club World Cup, Liverpool will face Monterrey in the semifinal phase at the Khalifa International Stadium on Thursday (12/19) at 00.30 AM Western Indonesian Time.
