Leonardo Bonucci Rates Italy has not been Equal to the European Elite Team
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Leonardo Bonucci stated that Italy still did not have the same standards as Spain, Germany, and France. But he believes, Italy has great potential that makes it possible to reach the same level as the elite team in Europe.
Italy has set a record of ten consecutive wins when they defeataed Bosnia Herzegovina 3-0 in a Euro qualifier as they will host Armenia next.
Despite possessing a flashy record, Bonucci insists that Italy – who only dominated the Euro Championship in 1968 – still has a ton of homeworks.
“We will reach the highest level of Europe, but we still have to improve quality to compete with teams that have collected important results in recent years,” said the Juventus defender during a press conference.
“They have a lot of world-class players, while we don’t. But we have the quality and potential to reach that level.”
Having beaten Portugal 1-0 in September 2018, Italy are currently
undefeated in their last 13 matches with a collection of ten goals without
conceding.
