By db-admin
DBasia.news – Liverpool’s victory rate is unstoppable in the Premier League. Latest, the Reds won 2-1 against Chelsea in Week six of the Premier League at Stamford Bridge.
Frank Lampard rotated Chelsea’s squad from the team that last played against Valencia in the Champions League. Down with a 4-2-3-1 tactic, Lampard relied on Tammy Abraham. His movements were supported by Mason Mount, Mateo Kovacic, and Willian.
While Liverpool did not make many changes in his squad. Jurgen Klopp continued to use the 4-3-3 tactics by relying on Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane, and Mohamed Salah on the front lines.
Despite playing at Stamford Bridge, Liverpool were actually more aggressive to pressure and has made it difficult for the host to build attacks in the first 10 minutes of the match. Four minutes later, Liverpool stole the advantage.
Starting from Mo Salah’s vision who saw the movement of Liverpool right-back, Trent Alexander-Arnold, the ball was given to him and he immediately broke into the Chelsea goal guarded by Kepa Arrizabalaga. Liverpool won 1-0.
In minute 15, Lampard had to make a substitute when Emerson was injured and Marcos Alonso included.
Chelsea originally scored in the 28th minute. However, Cesar Azpilicueta’s goal was disallowed by the referee via VAR (Video Assistant Referee) as Mason Mount, who started the Chelsea attack had been offside. In fact, Liverpool doubled their lead in the 30th minute.
Liverpool’s left back, Andrew Robertson, unleashed a free-kick into Liverpool’s 16-yard area. Firmino reacted faster than other players and gored the ball to make the Reds lead 2-0.
The advantage lasted until halftime. The conditions are getting worse for Chelsea because of injuries back lunging their players. This time, it was Andreas Christensen’s turn to be pulled out and replaced by Kurt Zouma.
In the second half, Liverpool’s pressure continued. Kepa had been forced to make two saves at the start of the second half of the opportunities produced by Firmino and Alexander-Arnold. While Chelsea were still looking for goals to reduce the lag.
The long-awaited goal came on the 71st minute. N’Golo Kante managed to escape from Fabinho’s escort, unguarded, and fired a kick that was unable to be anticipated by Adrian. 1-2 Chelsea reduced the position.
The goal had burned Chelsea’s spirits. They raised the intensity of the attack and this time it was Liverpool’s turn to survive, trying to take the ball, and rely on counterattack.
Unfortunately, Chelsea’s final settlement was not great in the remaining time of this second half. They had the opportunity to equalize through Michy Batshuayi and Mount, but the chances were both not on target.
Until the end of the second half, plus five minutes of added time, the Liverpool defense successfully prevented Chelsea from scoring an equalizer. Liverpool kept a clean sweep of wins and now has 18 points.
