Liverpool Legend Rated Weird If The Reds Become Champions Before The League Completed

By db-admin

DBasia.news –  Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher thinks it will be strange if The Reds are awarded the Premiere League title without completing the 2019/20 season competition.

“We all know Liverpool will win the league. They only need to win one or two matches to go. But if the league stops, it’s not right to give them the title. Yes, Liverpool might be given a league title, that’s what people say. But there will always be something there that doesn’t feel right about it,” Carragher said at Soccerway.

“But that won’t affect Liverpool economically, or their division. But, for other teams below the Premiere League, they’re really struggling to return to the Premiere League, and could be affected to four or five years if the league stops.”

Liverpool are currently firm on top of the table. The Reds are 25 points ahead of Manchester City in the second.

The problem is, the Premiere League is being suspended because of the corona virus pandemic. It is unclear when Jurgen Klopp’s squad will play again

According to Carragher, if competition in England is not resolved, then the biggest economic impact will happen to the small clubs.

“If Leeds United are not promoted this season for example, that could stop them to four or five years and maybe they could lose their manager. That is why I say Liverpool are not the most important. It is the team that will lose a large amount of money in the lower division, which is the most affected.”

“So this season has to be finished because it has an impact on next season, because places for the Europa League, Champions League and so on are also contested. Whenever we return to playing soccer, the competition must be finished,” Carragher said.
