By db-admin
DBasia.news – It is undeniable that the covid-19 pandemic that has swept the world since the beginning of 2020 has had a significant impact on the sports sector, including football.
Almost all clubs have felt the effects of the co-19 pandemic starting from the cessation of competition to the potential losses suffered from the financial side of the club.
In order to avoid the financial crisis caused by the co-19 pandemic, a number of clubs were forced to rack their brains to find the right strategies to maintain the financial stability of the club.
This also applies to Liverpool. Having the status of UCL champion in 2018/2019 and currently has a great opportunity to grab the EPL 2019/2020 does not make the team nicknamed the Reds safe from the financial crisis due to the covid-19 pandemic.
The failure of Timo Werner to come to Anfield was seen as one of the signs that Liverpool’s financial condition was not okay. As being widely associated with Liverpool, Werner is now even closer to joining Chelsea.
In Werner’s transfer saga, the strengthening issue behind Timo’s failure head to Liverpool was that Liverpool’s management was unable to make up for the player’s release clause.
Therefore, to maintain the financial condition of the club, one of the tactics that Liverpool has done is through activities in the transfer market next season. Jurgen Klopp’s club is rumored to be doing an overhaul against the current squad.
A number of players allegedly will resign from the club based in Anfield. In fact, prior to the crisis due to the co-19 pandemic, Jurgen Klopp was alleged to have the names of players who were planned to be released next season whether they were released on loan or sold permanently.
Players who are considered to have a vital contribution to Liverpool are the Firmansah trio (Firmino, Mane, and Salah) who have been guaranteed a place in Jurgen Klopp’s squad next season.
Aside from the Firmansah trio, Liverpool’s full-back duo, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson are also almost certain to get a place in Jurgen Klopp’s squad next season. In midfield, Jordan Henderson and Fabinho are also almost certain to stay at Anfleld next season.
Meanwhile, two other vital pillars of Liverpool, namely Alisson Becker and Virgil Van Dijk are rumored to be offered a contract extension offer for a long period of time.
On the other hand, there are still players whose future is still unclear at Liverpool. Georginio Wijnaldum, the player who played an important role in Liverpool’s fantastic comeback over Barcelona in the UCL 2nd Leg last season, has an uncertain fate.
Wijnaldum’s contract at Liverpool will expire next summer. Jurgen Klopp hopes that the certainty of Wijnaldum’s future can be confirmed when the 2020/2021 season rolls around. At present, there is no new contract agreement between Wijnaldum and Liverpool along with the issue of Barcelona’s interest in proposing the player.
Aside from Wijnaldum, Dejan Lovren also hasn’t found a clarity regarding his future with Liverpool. The Croatian national team mainstay defender is widely rumored to be leaving next season even though his contract with Liverpool will only expire in 2021.
Two Liverpool players who are currently on loan are also suffering from uncertainty, namely Marco Grujic and Harry Wilson. The two young players are still unclear whether they will be included in Klopp’s plans for next season or whether they will be sold permanently.
The market price of the two players is currently estimated at £ 20 million or equivalent to 355 billion rupiah. Meanwhile, Divock Origi, a player who was rumored to be for sale, is almost certain to stay along with the failure to recruit Timo Werner
In addition to players whose fate is still unclear, there are two players who are almost certain to be released next season. The first name is Loris Karius. The goalkeeper who had been a mainstay of Liverpool before the arrival of Alisson Becker had returned by Besiktas after his loan period ended. Hertha Berlin is rumored to be interested in returning the 26-year-old goalkeeper to the Bundesliga.
Aside from Karius, Swiss attacking midfielder, Xherdan Shaqiri is also almost certain to be sold next season at around £ 30 million, equivalent to 532 billion rupiah. A number of teams such as AS Roma, Sevilla and Zenit were allegedly interested in landing Shaqiri.
Besides being released permanently, Liverpool also plans to release several players on loan such as Adam Lewis, Liam Millar, Caoimhin Kelleher, and Sepp van den Berg.
Liverpool are also predicted to re-lend the players who are currently still on loan, such as Rhian Brewster, Kamil Grabara, Herbie Kane, and Sheyi Ojo.
Not only that, Liverpool will certainly lose the players whose service period ends in June 2020. There are at least two players who have become Liverpool’s mainstay pillars who would certainly leaveas their contract will expire this season, namely Nathaniel Clyne and Adam Lallana.
Especially for Adam Lallana, he has currently agreed to a mini contract that gives him the opportunity to play at Liverpool until the end of the season.
It is interesting to look forward to how Liverpool moves in the transfer market next season.
