Liverpool’s records after defeating Norwich City

By db-admin

DBasia.news –  Liverpool won 1-0 over Norwich City in the continuing Premier League match from Sadio Mane’s only goal (78 ‘). A number of records were created after the game.

Liverpool are now 25 points clear of Manchester City in second place (City has only played 25 times) and are getting closer to the Premier League title. The public had to go back to 1990 to see the last time Liverpool won the top division of English football (still named Division One).

“The distance is crazy, I don’t understand why. I am not smart enough. I have never experienced it before. It’s incredible, but it’s also difficult. We won, three points. What else can I say,” said Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp.

A series of interesting records were created after the match. Record after record was inscribed by Liverpool’s squad in its heyday now under the care of Jurgen Klopp.

The first record, quoted from Opta and Squawka, was Sadio Mane’s 100th goal in England in all competitions. Details, 75 goals for Liverpool and 25 goals for Southampton. The £ 34 million tag when Liverpool recruited him in 2016 from Southampton was relatively cheap.

Then, Liverpool have also won 17 Premier League games in a row and equaled their own record in March to October 2019. Then, Liverpool scored their 10th clean sheets this season and Alisson became the first goalkeeper to do so in the Premier League (Alisson played 18 times).

With that victory, Liverpool are only six points adrift of the unbeaten record, the pride of Arsenal who have survived for 16 years. Arsenal have never lost 49 times in the Premier League and now Liverpool have reached 43, through a record 42 games never losing Nottingham Forest.

In the next two matches, Liverpool will face Atletico Madrid in the first leg of the top 16 Champions League, Wednesday (19/02) 3:00 AM WIB, as well as the Premier League’s next match against West Ham United at Anfield, Tuesday (25/02) 3.00 AM.
