Ljungberg said Arsenal Players Have Iron Will After Defeating West Ham

DBasia.news –  Arsenal had felt a bad period since March 1977 with a record of a winless run in nine Premier League games. Now Arsenal finally managed to break the series of defeats by winning 3-1 against West Ham on Tuesday (10/12) early morning Western Indonesian Time.

After the match, Arsenal coach Freddie Ljungberg immediately flattered his team. For him, his team’s victory over West Ham United was very meaningful after a famine victory in nine matches in all competitions played.

“This victory is very meaningful for the players when they are under great pressure,” Ljungberg said after the match, quoted by Goal.

Had left behind 0-1 in the first half through Angelo Ogbonna scored in the 38th minute. Arsenal came from behind by replying three goals through Gabriel Martinelli (60′), Nicolas Pepe (66′), and Piere-Emerick Aubameyang (69′), successfully sealing Arsenal’s three points.

Arsenal’s second goal to make West Ham’s mental collapse. The longer West Ham gets tired and the sharper the pass is given. This condition is used properly by Arsenal. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang broke into West Ham’s goal and gave Arsenal a 3-1 lead.

“They worked very hard and that is what we talked about during the break. That (comeback) was purely due to the players. I was only there (the edge of the field) to guide them,” added Ljungberg.

Three points to bring Arsenal up one rank to the ninth position with 22 points. As for West Ham (value 16), this defeat makes them on the edge of the relegation zone and only one point adrift of Southampton who occupies 18th position.

Under the direction of Ljungberg, a former Arsenal player, the Gunners previously only won a draw at Norwich City headquarters 1-1 and lost 1-2 when entertaining Brighton and Hove Albion.

Furthermore, Arsenal will undergo a match in the Europa League at home to Belgian club Standard Liege, which takes place on Friday (13/12).
