Lopetegui, the Strongest Candidate to Coach the US

DBasia.news – Julen Lopetegui will soon get a new job after getting sacked by Real Madrid. The Spanish coach is the main candidate to handle the US national team.

Lopetegui got sacked last month. In fact, previously he also got sacked by Spanish football on June due to accepting Madrid’s offer just a few days before the 2018 World Cup.

The US believe that Lopetegui could revive the team’s performance after the failure to qualify for the 2018 World Cup final. Currently, the US are still handled by Dave Sarachan as the interim coach.

Under Sarachan’s leadership, the US haven’t reached a positive result. Moreover, they couldn’t score any goal in two recent matches against England and Italy.

Apparently, the US got impressed by Lopetegui’s impressive performance with Spain national team. Under Lopetegui, El Matador got unbeaten in 20 matches and won 14 victories and 6 draw.

Unfortunately, Lopetegui couldn’t preserve the good performance with Spain when he handled Madrid. From 14 matches, Madrid just won 6 matches, 6 defeats, and 2 draw.
