Losing Suarez Becomes Barcelona’s Biggest Problem
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Bernd Schuster, a former Barcelona player, said that losing Luis Suarez was the biggest problem for Cules. He hopes the current coach can overcome the problem.
Luis Suarez suffered a knee injury when facing Atletico Madrid in the semifinals of the Spanish Super Cup. He is predicted to pull over for six months.
Despite still having Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann up front, Bernd Schuster thinks Barcelona need a pure striker. This concern cannot be separated from the position of the two players who are not as a number nine player.
“Barca is in big trouble because Suarez is injured. Today, neither Messi nor Griezmann is the number nine player. And they don’t seem to want to be number nine,” Schuster said as quoted by Sport on Wednesday (1/22/2020).
“I don’t understand why they didn’t bring in a new striker. Barca clearly needs a replacement for Suarez as a bang,” continued the man from Germany.
This season the Uruguay striker has collected 14 goals and 11 assists from 23 matches. With this productivity, it’s no wonder that Schuster is worried about the Azulgrana front line.
The impact of the absence of the bomber has been seen in the last two Barcelona matches. They were only able to narrowly win 1-0 against Granada in LaLiga, and 2-1 over Segunda Division club Ibiza in the Coppa del Rey.
Seeing these two matches, Quique Setien’s club started thinking about bringing in a new striker this January. The name of the Borussia Dortmund striker, Paco Alcacer, is said to be a target.
