Luis Suarez Allegedly Cheating to Have an Italian Passport

DBasia.news – Barcelona striker Luis Suarez is currently facing a police investigation for allegedly cheating in order to pass an Italian language exam. Suarez last week underwent a language test in Perugia.

The test is the main requirement for obtaining an Italian passport. However, the results of the investigation showed that there was an agreement between Suarez and the test administrators before the test was held.

“The exam questions have been agreed upon in advance with the participants and scores are given before the exam is conducted,” the prosecutor’s office said in a statement, as quoted by AFP, Tuesday (22/9).

The suspicion of Suarez was also sparked by an overheard conversation from a test organizer. This conversation is suspected of paving the way for Suarez to pass the Italian language exam.

“Today I have a schedule (with Suarez) and I have to prepare it because he hardly spoke a word, he has to, he will graduate because with a salary of 10 million euros a season, you can’t make him fail,” the conversation said.

Apart from these problems, Suarez is currently completing the termination of his contract with Barcelona. It is hoped that he will not move to Italy. However, the 33-year-old is rumored to be joining Atletico Madrid soon.

Meanwhile, Juventus, who are said to have agreed a contract with Suarez, will certainly not continue the transfer process because it took a long time for players from Uruguay to get an Italian passport. The Bianconeri have also filled the quota for non-EU players.
