DBasia.news – Malaysia national team achieved two consecutive victories in two initial matches of Group A 2018 AFF Cup. After the 1-0 victory against Cambodia, Harimau Malaya also won 3-1 against the away team, Laos, at Bukit Jalil Stadium, Kuala Lumpur.

One goal from Mohamed Zaquan Adha Abdul Radzak and two goals from Norshahrul Idlan brought Malaysia to victory. The goals were created after Phithack Kongmathilath scored the goal at 7′. Consequently, Malaysia are now in the first position with 6 points achievement from 2 matches.

Malaysia are in front of Myanmar (3 points, 1 match), Vietnam (3 points, 1 match), and Cambodia plus Laos who have no points yet. After the match, Norshahrul admitted that he wants to chase the six-goal achievements just like what Thailand striker Adisak Kraisorn did.

“Of course, but I have to hope that Adisak doesn’t score any more goals. Really though, I’m not thinking about individual targets, it’s only about the team and if the team win, then I’m happy,” Norshahrul said in AFF official website.

Furthermore, Norshahrul explained Malaysia national team coach Tan Cheng Hoe instructed the players to be more aggressive in attacking during the draw situation 1-1 in the first half. Norshahrul’s goals happened in the second half and before the match ended.

“In the first half, I think we wouldn’t take any risk and didn’t attack, thankfully, we could score two late goals,” Norshahrul added.

“The coach told us to go and attack and to not be scared to make mistakes, just try to score and thankfully we could do that,” he stated.

Pahang FA striker has scored three goals in 2018 AFF Cup. Meanwhile, Adisak scored 6 goals just in the match against Timor Leste. Thailand won 7-0 in Group B first match and Adisak achieved the double hattrick from that match.
