DBasia.news –  Pep Guardiola seems to have begun to surrender his team’s chance , Manchester City, to defend the Premier League title.

Manchester City were defeated 1-2 from Manchester United in the matchday 16 of the Premier League 2019-2020, at the Etihad Stadium, Sunday (7/12) local time. Goals from Marcus Rashford (23 ‘P) and Anthony Martial (29’) were only able to be returned once through Nicolas Otamendi’s action five minutes from the end of the match.

With these results, Manchester City are getting away from the league leaders, Liverpool. Now, both teams are 14 points away.

“If you can’t catch Liverpool, we will try again next year. Sometimes, you don’t win and other teams are better so they lose,” Pep Guardiola told Manchester City’s official website.

“I believe the normal thing is not to win all the leagues and titles that can be won,” continued the former Barcelona tactician.

Indeed, this is not the first time Manchester City has had a long distance with Liverpool. In the last season, The Citizens were able to cut the difference of nine points with the Reds. However, this season Liverpool appeared more consistent.

“In football, sometimes you will lose. However, the most important part is not giving up,” Guardiola said.

“Throughout this season, my team played the way we wanted. We did have a hard time, but that was part of the process. Maybe, next season we will be even better,” the manager added.

Manchester City needs to immediately revive and look away in the next match. As Raheem Sterling and colleagues will visit the headquarters of Dinamo Zagreb on Matchday 6 Group C Champions League 2019-2020, Thursday (12/12).
