Man United Ended Arsenal’s Journey in FA Cup Fourth Round

DBasia.news – The Red Devils achieved the 3-1 victory against Arsenal in the fourth round of FA Cup, Saturday (26/1). The victory at Emirates Stadium is their eighth consecutive victory under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
For the second time, The Gunners got eliminated in the fourth round of FA Cup. In fact, Arsenal are the record breaker of FA Cup, 13 trophies. Meanwhile, United achieved eight consecutive victories of all competitions since Solskjaer came in December 2018.
Man United with their 4-3-3 scheme won at 31′ by the goal from former Arsenal player, Alexis Sanchez. Responding to Romelu Lukaku’s assist, Sanchez was onside and passed through Petr Cech before scoring the goal.
Just in two minutes, United added the score. Just like the classic game of both teams, United did the counter-attack in Arsenal’s gap and resulted in Jesse Lingard’s goal. Again, Lukaku gave the assist. United won 2-0.
Arsenal dominated the ball possession 61%. Their patience in building the new attack accomplished two minutes before the break.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang ended Aaron Ramsey and Alexander Lacazette’s teamwork by his goal to Sergio Romero. Arsenal added their goal and the 1-2 score persisted until the first half.
The match in the second half was one-sided. Arsenal kept on maintaining their rhythm and attack intensity. Meanwhile, United strengthened the defense and relied on the counter-attack.
Unai Emery tried to change the team’s performance by inserting Matteo Guendouzi and Mesut Ozil at 64′ substituting Laurent Koscielny and Alex Iwobi. Meanwhile, Solskjaer responded by sending Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial substituting Sanchez and Lukaku at 72′.
Solskjaer’s tactical change was more accurate than Emery’s. Martial summed up the match with United’s decisive goal at 82′. The French striker responded to the rebound ball from Petr Cech who countered Paul Pogba’s kick.
