Manchester City is a Prospective Three-Time Champion in the Premier League
By db-admin
DBasia.news – The two-time Premier League defending champion, Manchester City, is two points adrift of Liverpool who wiped out their first four matches with wins (12 points).
So far, there are only three unbeaten Premier League teams, namely Liverpool, Man City, and Leicester City. Given the competition so far, it will not be easy for The Citizens to retain the Premier League title three times in a row. Being in the top five was not easy.
Here are the predictions of the five teams that will rank in the top five of the 2019-20 Premier League:
1. Manchester City
The nickname of the King of the League pinned to Pep Guardiola is not just a status. When Guardiola has got the team he has, he and his team can dominate the league. Guardiola has shown his success in Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Man City.
Winning the Premier League three times in a row is not easy, however, seeing the offensive and entertaining City so far, they can overtake Liverpool with a two-point gap at the moment. Need a high level of consistency from Liverpool if you want to finish above Man City.
2. Liverpool
12 points from the first four matches, Liverpool showed their desire to win the Premier League since it was last won in 1990 (the old format before the Premier League).
Nevertheless, the depth of Liverpool’s squad is not as good as Man City. In the long Premier League marathon, plus a busy schedule, Man City is more favored than Liverpool who is too dependent on Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, and Sadio Mane.
3. Arsenal
Arsenal is still inconsistent in the first four Premier League matches. However, if you look at the players spending by the Gunners, there is still hope the club into the top four and play in the Champions League next season.
As long as Arsenal can find a balance in the back and middle lines, plus a sharp front line, the team directed by Unai Emery has a chance to enter the top four.
4. Tottenham Hotspur
Despite appearing inconclusive in the first four Premier League matches, Tottenham can now be calmer because the summer transfer window has ended. Mauricio Pochettino knows who are the most reliable players in his squad.
The players can refocus to display the best performance. Especially Christian Eriksen, because his name lately always appears in rumors of player transfers. Finishing in the top-four position can still be realized by Spurs because the same manager and squad are not much different.
5. Chelsea
With the transfer embargo given by FIFA to Chelsea, it is quite realistic if Chelsea ends the season in fifth place or the top five. Successfully finishing in the top four, the Champions League zone, is the best achievement that can be achieved by the Blues with the latest squad.
Frank Lampard, Chelsea’s manager, relies on old faces in the squad as well as young players like Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham. If they can play consistently, the Champions League zone can still be pursued, if not, it is quite realistic if they sit in fifth place in the standings (Europa League zone).
Where is Manchester United? With the lack of spending on player transfers, plus the depth of the squad that is not good, it’s hard for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team to be in the top five in the Premier League.
