Manchester City Presents Ancelotti’s First Defeat

By db-admin

DBasia.news –  Manchester City ended Carlo Ancelotti’s honeymoon as Everton’s manager by beating his guest 2-1 in Week 21.

Gabriel Jesus packed the brace which Richarlison could only repay once Man City forced Ancelotti to take his first defeat with Everton.

An additional three points make Pep Guardiola’s third-placed team now collect 44 points and stick tightly back to Leicester City (45) above them, while Everton (25) is stuck in 10th.

Phil Foden broke into the visitors’ goal using Riyad Mahrez’s pass, but the goal was then disallowed because Mahrez was caught offside in the attack process.

The breakthrough lasted until halftime and six minutes into the second half, Jesus broke the deadlock to bring Man City ahead.

Receiving feedback sent Ilkay Gundogan, Jesus controlled the ball to deceive Mason Holgate before firing a curved shot that lodged in the upper right corner of the goal.

Only seven minutes later, Jesus scored his second goal after escaping from Holgate escort in order to receive feedback sent Mahrez and break down the visitors’ goal at the near post to make Man City’s multiple advantages.

A 2-1 advantage for Man City lasted until the match was over to ensure three full points for Guardiola’s men.
