Manchester United Defender’s Leg Almost Amputated

Luke Shaw
DBasia.news –Left defender of Manchester United, Luke Shaw, explained his horror experience when injured in 2015. At that time, he almost amputated due to the severe injury.
Luke Shaw had a broken leg injury in the match against PSV Eindhoven during the Champions League. The player got a hard tackle from Hector Moreno that made him left the pitch.
Until now, he still remembers the incident clearly. Moreover, Shaw mentioned the injury almost ended his career.
“I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t sometimes thought about stopping playing football (during rehabilitation). I had a lot of good people around me, friends and family, who helped me through it,” Shaw said reported by FourFourTwo.
“I was really close to losing my leg but I didn’t know that until six months later when the doctor told me. Of course, if I knew that I would (still) never have stopped, even if he had told me there was a worry, I would have tried (to carry on playing football),” he added.
However, Shaw’s condition was slowly recovering. Moreover, the 23-year-old player was chosen as Manchester United’s best player on August 2018.
“I don’t want to talk about it too much – two scars down the side of my leg where they had to cut it open and pull them out because of how severe it was. But I don’t really care about that anymore. I feel really strong – and my right leg is exactly as it was before my leg break,” Shaw mentioned.
The good news also came from England national team. After performing impressively with Man United, Shaw was called by Gareth Southgate to support The Three Lions in the UEFA Nations League.
