Ralf Rangnick Reveals How to Handle Ronaldo at Man United

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Man United’s new interim coach, Ralf Rangnick, has revealed his approach to dealing with Cristiano Ronaldo.

Previously, Cristiano Ronaldo’s place at Manchester United was questioned after Ralf Rangnick took over. Because, in the gegenpressing tactic developed by Rangnick, the striker’s role is not only to attack, but also to apply pressure when the opponent holds the ball.

This is rarely done by Ronaldo. CR7 is a striker who is more focused when the team is building an attack, rather than losing the ball.

“As a coach, you have to adapt your style of play to the players you have. Not the other way around,” Rangnick said as reported by the Manchester Evening News.

“I saw Ronaldo’s action yesterday against Arsenal, especially in the second half. For a 36-year-old player, Ronaldo is a great professional.”

Rangnick feels that Ronaldo can still be relied on with above average physical strength. Moreover, the sharpness of the CR7 is also not blunt.

“I’ve never seen a player his age who has a fit body condition. Ronaldo is still a great player who can make a difference for this team,” explained Rangnick.

“Our job is to develop the whole team, not just Ronaldo. We are playing in the most competitive competition in the world. Therefore, we need all the strikers available.”

“From what I saw yesterday, Ronaldo always wants to give his best for the team. I’m sure his team-mates also want to do the same,” said the coach.

Ralf Rangnick will lead Manchester United when they host Crystal Palace, at Old Trafford, Sunday (5/12). Meanwhile, Michael Carrick, who was previously a manager, has left the Red Devils.
